Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu is planning
to make statues along Godavari in Rajahmundry ala Tank Bund in Hyderabad. And he is thinking to give this work to Tanjavur sculptures.Actually this type of work had been renovated first during the last Godavari Pushkarams in 2003. It is said that the CM has already commissioned sculptors of TTD and also from Thanjavur to do some 35 statues which will be installed on or after the Godavari Puskaralu and present a spectacle of Andhra culture, traditions, history and arts.
More over a similar concept is underway at the coastal city of Visakhapantam where a mini Tank Bund with statues of some social actiivists and artists , saints of the region are being displayed at the famous RK beach. No doubt Rajahmundry could get similar or greater treat in view of the historical significance and the prosperity of the region.
