Hyderabad : AP government set the target to save 638 MU (million units) of power through the DELP ( demand side efficient lighting programme) and street lighting, launched recently in the state, this year.In a brief interaction with the top officials, State Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao said on Sunday it was expected that energy savings per annum would be around 217 MU in Guntur, 150 MU each in Anantapur and West Godavari, 100 MU in Srikakulam and 21 MU in Visakhpatnam where the DELP was being implemented on pilot basis. So far, 40lakhs LED bulbs were distributed in domestic sector and 91,775 inefficient street lights were replaced with energy efficient LED street lighting, the official said five point strategy for the implementation of the EC and EE programme would adopted soon.
Thanking the central agencies like BEE, EESL and Ministry of Power for their unstinted support to the state in energy conservation mission, The official said energy conservation was one of the key factors for the successful implementation of the Power For All ( 24 x7) scheme launched with the support of union government last year.State government also adopted integrated approach on EC and EE by involving all key departments. State Energy Secretary Ajay Jain and SECM CEP A Chandrasekhara Reddy also present.
