AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that a total sum of Rs.23, 000 crore has been set apart for farmers loan redemption scheme.
Addressing the assembly Chandrababu Naidu said 39.19 lakh farmers including 3.56 lakh SC/St farmers had benefited from the scheme. The farmers who are given bonds will get 10 percent interest. Also, farmers will get 75 percent of sand revenue from their region in form of subsidies and community development activities.
Highlighting the various steps taken for farmers’ welfare in the state, Naidu said that the Farmers commission together with ICRISAT will work to make agriculture profitable. The farmers’ empowerment corporation with a huge corpus will strive to make farmers, tenant farmers, women farmers, tribal farmers lead a satisfactory life.
