Isuzu India will commence manufacture of pick-up trucks at the Sricity facility, near Nellore by April 2016.
The Managing Director of Isuzu India, Takashi Kikuchi who met Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that the Isuzu had set up a manufacturing facility with an initial investment of Rs 1,500 crore and nearly 75 suppliers are keen to invest in Andhra Pradesh. He also said that they would require the government to drive ancillary industries too.
Responding to Izuzu Chief the Chandrababu Naidu said that the government will come up with a policy for ancillary industries soon and also identify clusters within Sri City and in other areas for setting up ancillary industries .The facility will provide nearly 1,500 to 200 jobs to locals.
The Chief Minister briefed them that he wants to make Nellore-Chennai-Tirupati the automobile hub on the lines of Tokyo-Kawasaki-Yokohama trio cities.
