HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh government has recommended the name of media baron Ch Ramoji Rao for the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award. The government on Monday sent a list of 30 names, including name of Rajahmundry Lok Sabha member and actor M Murali Mohan to the Union home ministry, which will scrutinize and announce the final list in November. Telugu Movie Artistes’ Association president and popular actor G Rajendra Prasad’s name was also recommended for the Padma award. AP chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao sent the list after obtaining the approval of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. The list include names of noted surgeons Dr Nageswar Reddy, Dr Soma Raju, Dr Chandrasekar Simhadri, Dr Gopala Krishna Gokhale. Noted classical dancer Ananda Sankar, philosopher Chaganti Koteswara Rao, Veturi Sundara Ramamurthy, Vandemataram Srinivas, Venkatagiri weaver Ramanayya, Kuchipudi exponent Pasumarthi Rattaih Sarma, Vedic scholar Madduri Venkateswarayazulu and chess player Harika.
