Rajahmundry :
YSR Congress leader Kandula Durgesh on Friday said major injustice was done to the State for the third successive time in the Union Budget. He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu owed an explanation to people for welcoming the Budget.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Durgesh said no funds were allocated for Amaravati, the Polavaram project, Dugarajapatnam port, and no announcement was made on separate railway zone for the State with Visakhapatnam as headquarters.
He observed that the Chief Minister as well as Union Ministers and MPs representing the Telugu Desam Party failed in getting Special Category Status for the State. He reminded that the late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had succeeded in getting forest and environmental clearances for the Polavaram project.
Mr. Durgesh alleged that Rajamahendravaram rural MLA Gortantla Butchaiah Chowdary had failed to curb corruption in his constituency and demanded that the latter take action on errant officials.
