Rajamahendravaram: Telugu Desam Party senior leader and Rajamahendravaram rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary tendered his resignation for the post of state general secretary of the TDP. He faxed his resignation letter to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He was the founder member of Telugu Desam Party.
Speaking to the media, Gorantla said that he had to take the decision unable to bear the humiliation he been undergoing for the last one year. He mentioned that the party high command was giving priority to Ayaram and Gayarams and expressed anguish that the people who came into the TDP from other parties are getting plum posts.

He said that party workers who toiled for the party are getting humiliated and added that the party has no specific policy. He questioned why he government could not survive without the support of turncoats from the YSR Congress party.
He also expressed anguish that the sacrifices of the TDP workers have been ignored and observed that the TDP is distancing from its core doctrine.He expressed anguish that leaders who came from other parties have been given MLC posts and leaders who cannot win direct elections have been given minister posts by making them MLCs.
He recalled that he has been asked to give up Rajamahendravaram assembly seat for BJP which he obliged in the last elections. He disclosed that more than 50 per cent of posts have been given to the leaders who came from other parties.
