Swami Kapaleesananda, head of Ramakrishna Mutt, Rajamahendravaram, said here on Sunday children were being trained in culture, customs, spirituality and good behaviour in the coaching camps conducted every summer for more than 20 days under the banner of the Vivekananda Bala Vikasa Kendra.
Addressing the valedictory function of the camp, the Swamiji said children had been coached in painting, dancing, drama, elocution, dhyana, yoga and handicrafts apart from storytelling about the eminent personalities of the country.
He said 287 students from various schools had received the training from 12 teachers under the guidance of the former Principal of SKR Women’s College, P. Ramani.
On Sunday, the students enacted plays ‘Yekalavya’ and ‘Madhava Seva’. Dr. A. Suguna, former Principal of the SKR Women’s College, presided over the valedictory function and appreciated the efforts of the teachers and also Mrs. P. Ramani in conducting the classes.
Swami Kapaleesananda gave away prizes to the students who excelled in the coaching camp.
