RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabham dashed off another letter to CM N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday. He wanted to know why he was being stopped from undertaking padayatras.
In his letter, Mudragada said that the objective behind padayatra was to remind the CM about his assurance given to Kapus to give them BC status. He said that he had undertaken padayatra on August 27, and after travelling around 6 km, he was stopped at the instance of senior police officials.
“When my community men are coming to see me by taking loans, I told them not to strain themselves, and promised to visit them at their place. Accordingly, I travelled extensively in West Godavari district on September 25 and 26. I wanted to tour Gannavaram mandal in East Godavari on October 8 and 9, but, police informed that there was no permission for my tour,” he said.
The Kapu patriarch questioned the CM whether the TDP & YSRCP were above the law? “Your party leaders are moving here and there in the name of Inti intiki TDP and YSRC is also touring the State in the name of YSR Kutumbam. Why can’t I conduct any yatra? I wish to move around the villages to meet my brothers and sisters, but I am being restricted by you,” he said.
