Kothagudem: The Bhadrachalam police seized huge quantity of dry ganja that was being transported in two cars on Monday. Inspector of Police Vinod Reddy said during vehicle inspections at Bhadrachalam, the police tried to stop two vehicles which were over speeding to avoid inspection.
The police chased the vehicles and overtook them at forest check post and upon inspection they found nearly 100 kilograms ganja packed in small plastic packets. Police said the substance would be worth Rs 15 lakh. The police arrested five persons and booked them under relevant sections.
The accused were identified as Jadav Srinivas and Mohammed Mujeeb of Zaheerabad, Saik Mosin, Mohammed Umar and Mohammed Feroz of Hyderabad. They were transporting ganja from Rajahmundry to Hyderabad.
