A few days ago, Telugu Desam Party has agitated against the State Government’s Decision to Purchase the Ava Lands in Rajamahendravaram. These lands were purchased for Jagan Government’s Prestigious Housing for the Poor Scheme.
The government has acquired 600 acres in Kanavaram and Burugupudi villages for the distribution of house site pattas at a whopping 45 Lakh per acre. Opposition parties alleged that ava lands marooned many a time during the flood and rainy season and not suitable for house sites.
The Government claimed that they have done extensive surveys and there is no chance of flood. But then, the incessant rains in Andhra Pradesh for the last few days submerged those lands totally. In some areas, the water has come up to the waist level.
This means the Government has thrown 270 Crores down the drain. Hoping that the Government does not go on to give the lands for the Poor which may result in the mishaps in the future.
